Sophie's shop
Sophie's Shop is named for Sophie Meldrim who grew up in the Green-Meldrim House. Sophie owned a fancy dress boutique in Manhattan called Chez Ninon.
Jackie Kennedy was the shop's most famous customer and had her personal mannequin in the back room. This is the shop that made the famous pink Chanel Suit that Jackie wore in Dallas on the day her husband was assassinated.
Stop by Sophie's Shop whenever the house is open for tours. We have books about the famous pink suit, John Norris, the architect, Susie King Taylor's memoir and Savannah's beautiful squares. So much more! Savannah's famous cheese straws, locally made jams and jellies, stunning watercolor notecards, gifts for kids, ornaments, totes and silk scarves.
