We offer theatrical dramatizations throughout the year: 1876: Best of Times, Worst of Times; Christmas in Wartime; and Potable Gold: Savannah's Madeira Tradition. everal times a year we offer a combination GMH House and St. John's Church tour, followed by refreshments on the porch. We also collaborate with other local groups to present professional programs in our historic and beautiful setting. Stay tuned for evenings of music featuring singers from the Savannah Voice Festival!

Green-Meldrim history

  • The Green-Meldrim house was General Sherman's headquarters during the Civil War.
  • A freed African American woman worked for the Green family and was the first and only woman to publish accounts of the Civil War.
  • General Sherman gave Savannah as a Christmas present to President Lincoln.
  • The Green-Meldrim House was built for Lucy as part of their marriage contract.
  • Julian Green was a famous French writer.
  • Judge Meldrim was mayor of Savannah and president of the American Bar Association.
